KBC has developed its own dis­ciple­ship mater­ial aimed at cata­lys­ing spir­itual devel­op­ment through the use of principle-based teach­ing, audio and visual media, and focussed group ses­sions. Our courses are designed to address key stages of spir­itual devel­op­ment as follows: 

  • Start­ing Out: (1.1 & 1.2) Intro­du­cing Chris­tian­ity and Church life. [more]

  • Enga­ging: Under­stand­ing the spe­cific & gen­eral calls on your life. [more]

STEP 1.1 - Starting out in Small Groups

STEP 1.1 – Start­ing Out in Christianity

Under Devel­op­ment – due for release early in 2010

STEP 1.2 – Start­ing Out in Small Groups

Small group-based stud­ies designed to help groups find bal­ance, health and pur­pose. This course estab­lishes KBC’s “5 Key Wins” for group life, and equips them to set a course for the life of the group.

Dur­a­tion: 6 – 12 ses­sions (depend­ing on group needs)

STEP 2 – Trans­form­ing

STEP 2

Equips par­ti­cipants to deal with their past, and embrace their future through God’s empower­ing grace. This com­pre­hens­ive and life-altering course iden­ti­fies the pois­on­ous effects our fallen world has on us as people, and shows us how to embrace a life-giving cul­ture of GROWTH.

Dur­a­tion: 9 ses­sions (Avail­able twice annu­ally through Path­ways @ 7:30, or for use in GROWTH Groups by qual­i­fied leader)

STEP3

STEP 3 – Enga­ging

For those who wish to dis­cover their God-given design and focus. This course iden­ti­fies the mul­tiple lay­ers of God’s call on our lives: DOING, DYING, BEING, BELONGING. It helps us to

  • Engage with the world
  • Engage with God
  • Engage God with the World

STEP4

STEP 4 – Passing It On

God’s first dir­ect­ive to human­ity was to go and mul­tiply. Jesus reit­er­ated that call, com­mis­sion­ing us to go and make dis­ciples who will do the same. This course equips mature believ­ers to pass on the grace and peace that has been freely given to them. It also serves as the lead­er­ship cur­ricula for KBC GROWTH Group lead­ers, equip­ping them in core skills and prac­tices.

Encounter God Retreats

These stra­tegic­ally timed retreats work in con­junc­tion with STEPs 2 and 3, and are struc­tured to deal with issues raised in those courses. Some ses­sions are shared, and oth­ers are spe­cific for each course. Extens­ive min­istry times are planned and par­ti­cipants get to exper­i­ence the grace of God in a very prac­tical way.
