Chapel Hill Zone Profile
Posted on: July 26, 2010 in Zone Profile
The Chapel Hill Zone is an established residential area where there is a larger proportion of people in the younger age groups (0 to 17) but a smaller proportion of people in the 60+ age groups. The country of birth of the population in this Zone compared to Brisbane LGA shows that there is a large proportion (29.1%) of people born overseas and 13.3% were from a non-English speaking background. Over 57% of households in this area are comprised of couples with children, 30% are couples without children and 11% are single parent families.
This Zone has retained its connections with the bush and rural Queensland. With plenty of trees and bushland, Chapel Hill is a delight for families and hasn’t seen the urban sprawl that’s affected many other suburbs.
Community services which cater for the growing family, children and youth would be in high demand. KBC Growth Groups which are family friendly or cater for the practical needs of the over 60’s age group in this Zone, would provide a highly valuable resource to this community. Partnerships with aged care support services in the Zone would provide great ministry opportunities for KBC Growth Groups.
