Ideas for Community Connection for Groups

Posted on: February 1, 2010 in The Hub News

As per your request, here we will list your suggestions for ways your group members can connect with the community to multiply the influence of the group. The main intent is that we are simply spending time with a non-Christian in the same way that Jesus would. So, as long as it is not in activity that is distinctly counter the culture of God’s Kingdom, then go for it!

Ideas:
• Have a meal with friends and family
• Join a sports or social club
• Get involved with Yes We Care (29 May)
• Help out at Church in the Park (28 March)
• Serve the under-privileged with the Food Vans (Contact Vince Ford)

  1. Whilst I was away with Jeff my husband on a lovely caravan holiday for 6 weeks, my co-leader, Lynne Hall and our home group had a pre-Easter visit to Brookfield Village and ministered to the people living there. I guess that KBC were aware of this anyway but I thought I should bring this event to your attention on this page to encourage other groups to also arrange their own visits and ministry.

It was organised for musical input, (piano, violin and voice) games and participation and for Margo Heyburn one of our home group members to bring a solid evangelical message of the Easter message of freedom, life, love and hope. The entire event was apparently very well received by all who attended.

As Brookfield Village is a Baptist Home for the Aged, this is definitely a ministry opportunity for all aspects of home groups to visit and outreach.

A great opportunity .. Lynne and the group as a whole did a magnificent job.
