Don Everts shares how everyone in your group will be in different places spiritually– sometimes you will have non-Christians. Try to get everyone on the same playing field. A manuscript study format helps put everyone on the same level. Be careful of “assuming” what people know as well. Also choose passages that focus on Jesus.

KBC has many links to Student Life which does a great job of reaching students with the gospel. Perhaps your group would like to get behind a KBC-er who is at the forefront of this ministry.

Chaela Tiner is starting work with Student Life as a full-time missionary here in Australia. Student Life’s main focus is on helping people at university draw closer to God no matter where they’re at through evangelism and discipleship. She is currently raising her own support to be able to join this ministry and is meeting with Christians in the area to explain more fully about what she’ll be doing with Student Life, sharing stories of the things she’s already seen God do on campus, and sharing ways that people can be involved in the ministry, while also encouraging people in evangelism.

The Christian life can’t be lived outside the context of community. The two pillars that form the expression of small groups are the Great Commandment (Mark 12) and the Great Commission (Matthew 28).

When someone asks a tough question, the best thing you can do is be honest. Bill Willits says it’s helpful to say “this is what I think, but I need to get back to you.” Or open up the question to the group to help find the answer.
