ZONE CONNECTION
We have formed 13 zones within our KBC community to internally organise ourselves to responsibly care for our community and outreach to our neighbours.
  • Each zone has a zone leader who is connected to the heartbeat of your local KBC community and the greater local community.
  • Zone Leaders can help you:
    • connect into your local KBC community (such as a Growth Group)
    • provide supportive care
    • offer insight into outreach opportunities near you.

COMMUNITY LIFE
We believe the goal of our Christian community is to become a part of God's people, in our life together reflect God’s character to the world we live in.

In the community at large this means seeking answers to the question of what does “life in the fullest” look like in our neighbourhoods, workplaces, and in everyday encounters. We are eager to partner and work with you as we work to celebrate, call and change for the benefit of the community as a whole.
JOIN A GROWTH GROUP!
How best to connect:

Although KBC gathers each week as a whole community, real connection happens best in our local area on a day-to-day basis. KBC's primary environment for building community and connection is through our network of GROWTH Groups. Up to 15 people per group meet regularly in homes across Brisbane to develop:
  • Community: Cultivating healthy, contributing relationships
  • Celebration: Remembering the reason they meet
  • Cultivation: Applicable growth toward the Spiritual DNA
  • Care: Ensuring no one stands alone
  • Communication: Multipying influence

RESOURCES

Outreach

  1. Have your Growth Group host a neighbourhood street party at the location the Growth Group meets; relationships are the base from which people come to know about Jesus.
  2. Bring flowers to the local social services department/ school/ police/ etc. When they ask why, tell them about how you love Jesus who said “blessed are the peacemakers”, so you want to thank them for their work.
  3. Bake something nice. Bring it to your neighbour. See what happens.
  4. Set up a “FREE Hot Chocolate” stand near a bus stop near your house and give it away on a cold day.
  5. Have your Growth Group set a day to have everyone in your neighbourhood (at the Growth Group’s location) to come get their car washed. Pre-plan the day and have your best evangelist chat with your neighbour while the team washes the car.
  6. See specific zone page for service ideas and opportunities within your zone
  7. Always be looking for what God is doing and see how to creatively join in to tell others about Christ through our actions and words.
  8. More ideas in progress: if you have a good idea email Ryan at ryan.vallee@kbc.org.au
